UT School of Public Health San Antonio founding chair Gimeno receives $250,000 UT System Faculty STARs award

has been awarded a $250,000 UT System Faculty Science and Technology Acquisition and Retention (STARs) award to support the research endeavors of 51²è¹Ý of Texas School of Public Health San Antonio, where he serves as founding chair of the Environmental and Occupational Health Department. A trained psychologist and social and occupational epidemiologist, Gimeno plans to use the funds to enhance collaborative projects by investing in state-of-the-art equipment. This includes developing real-time mobile air quality monitoring to map air pollution in San Antonio and providing students with hands-on learning opportunities in environmental and occupational health sciences.
